10 beauty secrets to steal from Marylin Monroe

Marylin has been always a favorite super star & I love everything about her personality. She was an ultimate beauty icon of all time & I have always loved her mind. She was naturally very pretty & charming but her makeup secrets made her look fabulous & unique. Today I'm sharing 10 beauty secrets of my all time makeup inspiration.

1.Plumper lips:
Yes! The first thing first. Who doesn't want the perfect Marylin's red pout?
Marylin's makeup artist used to layer 4 to 5 color of lipsticks topped with gloss layered on one another to achieve that multi dimensional look. After outlining the lips, darker shades were used on the outer corners, followed by lighter shades in the middle with some highlighter on the cupid bow & on the center of bottom lip as well. On top layered by a beautiful gloss which made her lips look fuller & so voluptuous.  

2. Moisturizing with Vaseline:
Marylin used to apply vaseline under her foundation to add a lovely glow to the skin. This trick made her look amazingly fresh & glowing on camera, creating kind of soft focused look.


3. The falsies:
The actress used to wear only half set of lashes on outer corners of her eyes to extend the shape of her eyes, followed by couple of coats of mascara for the perfect eye lashes.

4. Heart shape highlight:
To enhance the heart shape face feature, the makeup artist of Marylin Monroe used couple of tricks. to widen the upper half of her face he used highlighter as well as arched the brows which helped to widen the forehead. And then, he contoured 7 shadowed the bottom half of her face with darker shade of powder to create the illusion of narrow jawline & slimmer face.

5. Nose job:
Makeup artist Whitney used blush to shorten Marilyn's nose as well as to enhance her cheeks. He used to dab a lil bit of blush on tip of her nose & then go on top of it with vaseline & powder to achieve the soft focus texture & to achieve shorter looking nose.

6. The famous eyeliner:
The makeup artist of Marylin's knew the art of perfect eye liner. He used to start from the inner corner all the way to the outer corner, bringing the line out and up.

7. Faking the falsies shadow:
The makeup artist used to draw a fake shadow on the outer corner of lower lash to create the illusion using a soft brown pencil. This used to give Marylin a more open eyes effect & seductive look. The gap between two lines was used to be highlighted to complete the signature Marylin look.


8. Highlighting:
This means highlighting the eyes all over by applying a highlighter in inner corners of eyes, on the brow bone & under the eyes.

9. Mesmerizing eyes:
To get those beautiful eyes Marylin's eyes were coated with creamy white eyeshadow. All over the lid upto brow bone & then soft smokey brown or silvery blue shadow was applied on outer crease to give effortless depth.

10. Always fresh secret: 
She used only pink & coral blushes to always look fresh & give her that soft feminine look.
