10 Met Gala 2014 best looks

The Met Gala 2014 was in full wing with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, fashion & music best dressed in their interpretation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.This year Met Gala exhibit is "Charles James- Beyond Fashion". It takes a look at the twentieth century couturier Charles James known for his sculptural & revolutionary Ball gowns.There were many stunning & glamorous looks as after all Met Gala is called "Oscar of fashion" but these 10 deserve to be discussed.

1. Queen Bey & Jay-Z:

The most favorite look from the night was of Queen B in glam black Haute Couture gown & Jay Z suit by Givenchy. They looked nothing less than royal. She looked stunning while keeping her look classy & elegant. Her flawless figure was on full display. 

2. Kim Kardashian & Kayne West:

Kim Kardashian has done a complete 180 degrees change from last year's Met Gala look. The bombhell arrived in a blue & black Lanvin gown & her equally fashion-obsessed fiance on her arm. With Kim's beautiful waves & minimal makeup she looked flawless.

3. Victoria Beckham & David Beckham:

Victoria Beckham was seen in her Victoria Beckham dress with simple accessories,white pumps which complemented her natural makeup look completely. David Beckham was seen  in Ralph Lauren black label suit & Christian Louboutin shoes. The couple looked amazing (as usual).

4. Blake Lively& Ryan:

Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds looked like quite golden couple when they arrived at Met Gala. Blake wore a custom Gucci premiere gown with a plunging neckline with Ryan sported a made-to-order blue velvet tuxedo, also by Gucci. The duo couldn't contain their smile their smiles as they made their way up the grand staircase, stopping to playfully pose along the way. They were one of many sexy couples. 



5. Amber Heard & Jhonny Depp:

They were one of the stunning celebrity couples to hit the Met Gala in New York. Amber poses alongside fiance Jhonny Depp in Giambattista Valli gown. The duo posed for photos while holding hands, though Jhonny had both hands full since he carried a cane in one & gloves in other hand. 

6. Sarah Jessica Parker:

She made a splash in voluminous white & black Oscar de la Renta gown, Fred Leighton jewels. After few miss on red carpets this season she finally nailed it in this stunning gown with such a beautiful hair updo & minimal accessories. We knew it, you had this in you SJP. 

7. Haile Stainfield:

She wore a Parabal Gurung dress with Charlotte Olympia  pumps, Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry. She showed her sophisticated side in a floor length satin gown which offered a sneak peek of her golden shoes.

8. Cara Delevigne:

So someone didnt dress to the theme!
Cara Delevigne stuttered her stuff in Stella McCartney outfit at Met Gala.though the theme was ball gowns but her pant & croptop looked fabulous. Cara's old Hollywood waves were perfect & she scored some extra points for those pumps.


9. Tabitha Simmons:

She took a magical route wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dramatic gown, which reminded us of what couture dreams are made up of. This is what the Met Gala is all about! There are no more words needed for this look- its truly spectacular.




10. Gisele Bundchen:

Gisele is a glowing goddess as she hit the red carpet at Met Gala. The super model wore a body clinging black silk & velvet guipure lace Balenciaga gown & was having her husband Tom Brady as her arm candy. She looked stunning and posed happily for the photographs.

10 Makeup & hair trends to follow in spring 2014

This season nails are nude, eyes shadows are pastel pastel, lips are neon orange, eyeliners are graphic & inky, skin is dewy & face is bare. Here are



1. Glowing & dewy skin:
Gorgeous day-glow golden is the way to look tanned this season.
Tip: Mix your favorite foundation, tinted moisturizer or alphabetic cream with illuminator and apply with wet sponge to achieve the flawless finish.



2. All natural look:
No trend is a trend this season. Models were sent out on catwalks with bare minimum of products. It was about the look which is modern, fresh & real. The aim is to achieve raw-natural look using little makeup to conceal the flaw & define features rather than completely transforming. The look is about more healthy & conditioned skin.
Tips: Add some pale shade to hollow & enhance shape the eyes. Use some illuminator for skin finish & no mascara at all. Wash & dry your hairs before adding any needed oil to tame some frizz.



3. Orange lips
It seems like orange is the lip color of this season with no shortage of designer options of various hues. Variety of colors for all skin tones are available from high end to drugstore brands. 4.White eyeliner & eye shadows:
White eye trend was all over the fashion week as it gave a dewy finish to the lids. It looks fun & fresh on bottom or top eyelids.
Tip: Before applying light colored eye shadow, apply your primer & nude colored eye shadow to your eyes to get the maximum color.



5. Pastel Eye-shadows:
Pastel wash of colors generally is a no-no because they are not easy to pull-off, are they?. But this season they are making a statement. No one saying to blend 5 eye-shadows you can get the look by applying only 1 shade on your lid.
Tip: Pair your pastel eye shadow with a neutral look. Dont forget to apply your primer & nude eye shadow to get the bright color.



6. Inky Eyeliner:
Bust out your blackest black eyeliner as inky eyeliner is big this season! Black eyeliner is nothing new but irrelevant swipes, live-in-kohl paired with very little else makes a sultry statement.
Tip: Opt for a waterproof eyeliner & rim your lash-lines with black eyeliner. Use kohl pencils & smudge them for sultry look or for punk look draw a neat lower lashline.



7. Graphic eyeliners:
Here's perhaps the only this trend that may take a little practice. This season eyeliners has gone graphic with straight flicks & angular shapes. This makes the retro obsession instantly more modern, but still super-sexy.



8. Nude nails:
Understated nails are having their moment & when nude nails are accented with a touch of shimmer the look becomes super glamorous.
Tip: Pair nude nails with bright lips for ultra gorgeous combo.


9. Boyish brows:
Its confirmed that arched or thin defined brows are not returning this season. Its all about bold & boyish brows.



10. Cafe Au Lait Hairs:

Orange Lipsticks- How to wear + 10 best lipsticks to try





Incredible, orange lips are ridiculously popular these days. They are the hottest & boldest trend of this spring & summer. It was seen all over the Fashion week runway show in Paris. I, myself is not a a big fan of bold lips but after seeing how makeup artists playing with it, I have to tell I don’t really feel the same now. But to pull off such a bright & bold color you need to know few things to wear it right.
Orange lipstick in not as crazy as it sounds. You just need to know how to pull off the look perfectly. You, too, can rock it the orange lips like celebrity doing. I know, now you are thinking that Yes! They can as they have makeup experts, professional stylist & hair persons at their back. Go grab the best color of orange lipstick as it’s exactly what you need to usher this spring.  Here are few tips & tricks to wear orange lips:

  1.       If you want to wear bold color & you don’t feel brave enough to wear it full-powered then dab the lipstick on your finger & apply it with your fingers.
  2.        For a glossier look, you can add a light coat of lip-gloss over the lipstick.
  3.       If you want to wear it full-powered apply the lipstick with brush – it will stay longer & look smoother.

If you have red hairs, whether they are copper, auburn or russet you can still pull off this trend, you just have to be little careful about it. Basically, go simple & elegant with everything else & let your lips speak for yourself.
  3.    .  If you have a pale skin, then look for a shade of orange with a hint of rich & pretty peach to give you the best look.
  4.       If you have a naturally dark skin or have a gorgeous golden tan you then you can go with a more day-to-glow orange lips. You don’t have to go full neon but something vibrant & bright will look gorgeous on you. Pair it up with winged eye-liner, light blush & elegant hairs.

Spring clean your makeup bag


Clean up or clear out!
Be honest! When was the last time you had a good clean out of your makeup bag?
Washed all your makeup brushes, threw away those extra cotton buds which were lying hidden at the bottom of your bag. 

 Its the time to clear up your table & empty all the contents of your makeup bag on it to see what is really lurking in there. Because the chances are that your makeup bag is in dire need of a clean up as its overflowing with the  timeworn cosmetic. Oh I see a clumpy mascara from last spring, or a gel-liner which dried or some foundation which never matched my skin tone. 

 First things first, through all the products in the dustbin which you have never used or haven't missed using in an year or so. Through away all the blushes, eye shadows or powdered makeup product that's crumbled into tiny pieces. As you dont use it for the fear of mess it will make upon opening. Dont wait untill it explodes into your toiletry bag & make it an even bigger mess. 
Check the labels of each products for the expiry date & through them away.You  dont have to keep them because you probably dont see anything wrong with them. 
Put away all the plums, burgundy, maroons & those vampi dark lipsticks as you dont need them for spring or summer. Also put away your heavy coverage foundations because you dont need them in springs of Jeddah!
Throw away any products which is dis-colored or the smell has changed.

  • Powder (face, blush, bronzer): 18 months
  • Lipstick: 18 months
  • Concealer: 9-12 months
  • Durable makeup sponge: Wash weekly and then toss after two months
  • Brushes: Wash weekly and keep a long time

Top tips for healthy beauty:
  • Eyelashes are naturally filled with bacteria, therefore the moment a mascara brush touches them, it gets contaminated. Repeat the process on a daily basis and over time you get a natural buildup of bacteria increasing the chance of eye infection or an allergic reaction with each use of the product. Hence the three month mark.
  • Needless to say, avoid sharing cosmetics as cross contamination may occur, increasing chances for infection.
  • Be mindful not to store or expose cosmetics to temperatures higher than 85 degrees Fahrenheit (29 Celsius). Makeup left in a car will surely deteriorate faster and unnecessarily test preservatives.
  • Avoid leaving your cosmetics open without lids or caps on your vanity exposed to dust.
  • And most basic of all, always wash your hands before applying your skin care and makeup.

Spring clean your wardrobe

 The spring has already started with its beautiful colors & its time to clean your closet & makeup stuff to make room for new buys & trends.
Are you having a pull & push fight with your closet? If Yes! Its time to take out all the stuff which you no longer needs for this spring. Is your closet full of stuff which you don't remember owning? Then here is your solution. Choose a weekend or a day out of your spring break, put on your comfy outfit & tie your hairs in a high messy bun. Trying putting on the outfit which is easy to take off or put on as you'll be doing this alot.

Here is how you can clean & restock your closet.

 Good reasons to through away clothes:
1. They are old & worn.
2. They no longer fit you.
3. You don't feel good or comfortable in them.
4. you've never worn them.


Dividing your stuff into piles:
Start your way through your wardrobe, looking at each item as you go. Divide your stuff in four piles:

  1. Which you are giving away/donating, 
  2. Which you are keeping 
  3. Which you don't need for the season 
  4. Which you are not sure about. 
Self questioning:

  • While separating clothes ask your self these questions: 
  • Does it suit you? 
  • Is it right for the season?
  • Have you worn it in recent months?
  • Are you keeping it because it was expensive or a present? 

The only clothes which you should keep are the ones that fits you, suits you & not too old fashioned.
Pack the clothes in a separate box which you are not sure about & if during that month you haven't missed them that means you don't need them. They can be given away to the charity.


Restocking your wardrobe:
By the end of this you'll find yourself with a much smaller wardrobe. Now its the time to place back what you have kept. Start with separating your clothes into outfits to help identify what's missing.
You'll be needing basics like Tees, leggings, shorts, sundresses & knee length skirts.
Make a list of items which are missing so later on you can go & look out for them to complete your outfits.
You can keep your wardrobe to the limited number of colors to ensure most items are interchangeable.


Accessories:
You don't need all those boots & shoes for the spring so you can pack them up in boxes along with warm hats & scarves. Keep some bright colored & light fabric scarves for your spring & summer. Choose the right bags & jewelry to complete the look of outfit & if you find any piece which you don't need you can pack it up & keep.

I know I have been off with my posting & blog. Its like more than a month I didn't post anything because of my busy work routine. But Hey! Its my Spring break. So, today I woke up early to do some promised reviews.
I'm a big fan of fragrances & is always looking for new fragrances & pretty bottles.I have been looking for that "the one" perfume which can stay on my signature shelf forever. I tried looking for so many different perfumes & my search ended in last year's April when a friend recommended this scent with a bottle as gift.



Today I'm gonna review my favorite perfume of all time, Yes! its all about Narciso Rodriguez for her.
Narciso Rodriguez for her was launched in 2006 in baby pink bottle & black box after the original EDT launch in 2004. It is such a soft, musky & feminine scent that can make you fall in love every time. I love the dry-down rose notes combined with noticeable musky & sandalwood fragrance. It blends in your skin & warms up real quick for leaving you with mesmerizing soft rose scent & creamy-sweet musk.

Its not too strong or "On your face" kind of fragrance, but still very noticeable while maintaining its softness. One spray is enough to get the beautiful scent which can last whole day on you. Its a single fragrance which combines feminine, sexy, musky, soft & deep all at the same time.




This is not an old-lady-type of fragrance but for a women with confidence. Narciso is mysterious & sensual like a jazz singer in a dimly lit club, where the women still wear gloves & use cigarette holders.

I wear it on my wrists & whenever I go out & gets a whiff of air my wrist releases incredible sensual scent. I get alot of compliments every time I wear it or you can say whenever I feel like being complimented I wear this perfume & its never a miss. I always get inquired about it by both men & women. Sometimes I mix it with body oils to make a scent of my own & that's also a hit.



Final Verdict:
A must have & highly recommended fragrance by me. Its all in one at the same time. Representing the feminism & confidence of a women. Its simple but deep, random but luxe & offensive but erotic. Its expensive but totally worth your money. This is one hot mama!
